WHAT IS MEGARAFTER?
MEGArafter is the roof truss equivalent of the MEGAjoist floor truss. It has all the benefits of the MEGAjoist floor truss product.
SUPERIOR PRODUCT
MEGArafter can be graded up to 2.5 degrees making it highly suitable for flat roofs. It can have the box gutters and parapet upstands formed on the ends of the truss. It can be graded at 1 in 80 or 1 in 100 making it ideal for use in tiled balconies. This saves messy and expensive tile grout beds.
how we make it
The MEGArafter is made much in the same way as the MEGAjoist.
The timber material is first prepped by cutting the chords and blocks as per the specific project requirements. Once the material is prepared, the MEGAjoists are assembled and glued with the MEGAjoist proprietary adhesive on a custom designed vertical jig. The jig clamps the trusses and is used to nail off the truss. Once fully nailed off, the truss is removed from the jig so that the next one can be made.
what its made of
As per the MEGAjoist, the MEGArafters are constructed of solid timber glued with a structural adesive, meaning there are no steel webs or plates to cause injury or strip electrical wires. The absence of steel webs and plates means that the risks of injury or stripping wires is significantly reduced.
The solid timber nature of the product means that once the product is installed it acts as a carbon store for the life of the building, meaning they are an environmentally friendly product.
INSTALLATION
MEGArafters are installed in a way similar to conventional low-pitch roof trusses.
